Intricately Woven Velvets That Bring History and Texture to Life

From winding vermicelli linework to textural ikat spots that blur into textured hazes, Zoffany’s Domino Velvets is a collection of its most ornamental figured velvets, designed as the focal point for a room.  

In a series of six designs, patterns are heightened in the sheer complexity of weave and the variation of pile depth – brought to life in a variety of intricate techniques, including jacquard and embroidery, ranging in both matt and sheen qualities to dramatic effect and pile finish, balancing high performance with visual interest. 

The Domino Velvet, the leading design of the collection is created with a woven chenille ground, with a loop pile and cut pile woven together to create a highly detailed and complex fabric. The design is an interpretation of a 16th century domino paper within the Zoffany archives, in winding linear forms set within a beehive structure.   

Across the series, from ornamental features such as paisleys to spots to animalistic patterns, each design displays a depth of visual interest.
