Antiques for the Future

NEW FOR SS25 | RARE TEXTILES

Exploring the Rare Textiles collection is like walking into a cloistered room of a textile library. From spotting a rare 18th Century Mongolian weave, to uncovering an antique Peruvian design, or a tapestry document, this collection is inspired by the most precious global historic designs in the Zoffany archive.

In a height of appreciation for these historic documents, we have weaved these historical documents to life. Sensitively designed for the contemporary home, these rare designs can now be in use, be seen, and appreciated once more.

To maintain the standard of excellence of these historical records, Zoffany hand-selected the mills and makers to take on this collection, according to the specialisation of craft required.

A number of the designs are woven in a historic, family-run mill in Naples, where the art of weaving has been passed down through five generations, with its roots tracing back to the 18th century. Among them, Caserta Paisley, woven on mélange linen in the lampas tradition; Kempshot, a lustrous flame stitch requiring eight colours in the warp to achieve its jewel-like hues; and the exquisite Marquetry Trellis.

From Italy, craftsmanship takes us also to Scotland, with the creation of Clyde Paisley. One of the key designs of this collection, this textile is named after it’s mill at the Scottish River Clyde, near the town of Paisley, which is renowned for its heritage in weaving this distinctive style. From Scotland to Belgium, Zoffany collaborated with Belgian tapestry specialists to bring a historical document to life in the ‘Blostma Tapestry,’ a standout piece in this collection.

Each weave in this collection stands up on its own as a beautiful, coveted design, designed in mind to seamlessly integrate and layer among Zoffany’s portfolio of wallpapers and fabrics.
